The developments in the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) opens new opportunities in improving efficiency, transparency, quality, information sharing and group communications in the process of e Governance and Citizen Service Delivery. The citizens, city officials and collaborative institutions will be able to use tools and technologies emerging from ICT for the benefits in daily life and work practices of the overall community. The e Council system for Colombo City will link the Mayor’s Office, The City officials, Collaborative Institutions and The Citizens using internet as the medium of communication for delivery of services and information. To fulfill above objectives e Governor software application was developed, an Internet enabled internal Network implemented in Mayor's Office with a database server implemented together with training of City officials. The Mayor of Colombo Mr. Prasanna Gunwardena leads the e Council project assisted by City officials, Senior Citizens of the City Watch and other collaborative institutions of the council. Initial Funding to implementation provided by sustainable cities program and UN HABITAT. E fusion pvt ltd involved in Research & Development of e Governance Applications and CRM, B2B and e Commerce Solutions embedded with local languages Sinhala and Tamil Researched and developed the eGovernor System. This web site will continuously develop to provide information and e Services from the Colombo city council.
